Hescamps

Hescamps ( Picard: Hécamp ) is a northern French village with 527 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, is part of the Communauté de communes du Sud -Ouest Amiénois, in the canton Poix- de -Picardie.

Geography

The very extended community forms the southwestern corner of the Somme region. It is in the west mainly by the municipalities Fourcigny, Fouilloy, Romescamps and Saint -Thibault and by the Department road D315 (formerly Route nationale 15 bis ), in the south by the municipalities Sarcus, Élencourt, Daméraucourt and the Territory border to the Oise, to the east by the communities Méréaucourt, Thieulloy -la -Ville and Sainte- Segrée, bounded on the north by the municipalities Meigneux and Marlers. In East-West direction, the municipality of the department of road D919 and the railway line from Amiens to Rouen is crossed ( with breakpoints in Sainte- Segrée and Fouilloy ). In the spring the community Évoissons and their inflow Poix.

Economy

In Hescamps since 2008 is the wind farm Candor with five wind turbines and an installed capacity of 6000 kWh.

The conclusions drawn in Hescamps lambs are marketed under the Appellation d' Origine Pres-sales de la baie de Somme.

History

Today's church was formed in 1972 from the merger of Agnières, Frettemolle, Hescamps and Souplicourt.
