Hailles

Hailles ( Picard: Heille ) is a northern French village with 429 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, is part of the Communauté de communes Avre Luce Moreuil and is part of the Canton of Boves.

Geography

The church in the countryside Amiénois is located on the left (south ) bank of the Avre opposite the confluence of Luce and is connected by a bridge to Thézy - Glimont. The distance to Boves is around 7 km, according to Ailly- sur- Noye about 9 km and 7.5 km Moreuil.

History

1870 there was an unsuccessful Franc Shooter attack on a Prussian officer. The municipality received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
