Morvillers-Saint-Saturnin

Morvillers -Saint -Saturnin ( Picard: Morvile -Saint -Saturnin ) is a northern French village with 409 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) by the Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, is part of the Communauté de communes du Sud -Ouest Amiénois, in the canton Poix- de -Picardie.

Geography

The department of the road D1029 ( former Route nationale 29) crossed municipality is located approximately 6 km east of Aumale in the Haute -Normandie and 12 km west of Poix- de -Picardie. The municipal area extends as far north on the Autoroute A29 addition, and borders the municipalities Hornoy -le- Bourg and Lafresguimont -Saint-Martin. To the west it borders among others of Aumale and thus to the department of Seine -Maritime. The center of the municipality lies on the road department D18. To Morvillers include the vilage Charny and Etotonne in the north and Digeon in the far southwest as well as the transportation hub Le Coq Gaulois, where the roads department D1029, D315 and D18 meet. The church of Saint -Saturnin is isolated on the D18 about a kilo Menter west of Morvillers. North of the D1029 is a wind park ( Parc de eolien Morvillers ) spreads.

  • The flower garden of the castle of Digeon at the castle in the neo -classical style (since 2005 as a monument historique classified (base Mérimée PA80000045 ).

Personalities

  • Marcel Audemard d' Alançon (1914-1940), French aviator, here died in a dogfight killed and buried in the cemetery of Saint- Saturnin.
