Ville-le-Marclet

Ville- le- Marclet ( Picard: Ville- l'Marclet ) is a northern French village with 510 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) by the Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, is part of the Communauté de communes du Val de Nièvre et environs, in the canton Picquigny.

Geography

Ville- le- Marclet located northeast of Flixecourt at the Nièvre. The community extends along the D159 road department. The district of Le Marclet directly adjoins Saint- Ouen in Canton Domart -en- Ponthieu, which stretches far into the municipality of Ville- le- Marclet. Through the municipal area Autoroute A16 with a connection point runs. The municipality further include the farms La Rederie ( post to Domart -en- Ponthieu ) and Bois- Riquier and La Cavée. The industrial area is transferred to the community Flixecourt.

History

The community was until 1899 the name Ville- Saint- Ouen. In the 19th century saw the development of the textile industry through the company Saint- Frères, which provided for a railway siding. But agriculture remained an important source of income. In the rebuilt after destruction in 1912, the castle on the heights above the village nested in a World War II Gestapo and SS.

Economy

Today in Ville- le- Maclet made ​​a packaging factory ( emerged from Saint- Frères ), a meat factory, a company for alarm systems and several landscape nurseries.
