1990 Copa Libertadores

The Copa Libertadores 1990 was the 31st edition of the most important South American football competition for club teams. 19 teams took part. Colombia was excluded because of threats against referees by members of the drug mafia in the country in the Copa Libertadores in 1989 from the tournament, leaving only defending champion Atletico Nacional was allowed to start, which also had to deliver its home games in Chile. It took the national champions of CONMEBOL countries and the second part respectively. The field was completed by defending champion Atletico Nacional. The tournament began on 25 February and ended on 10 October 1990 with the final second leg. The Paraguayan representatives Club Olimpia won the final against Barcelona SC Guayaquil and for the second time the Copa Libertadores.

Due to the suspension of the Colombian Teams Club Olimpia had a bye in the second round, as the club was to meet the winner of Group 5 on the third of the group 2. However, after the exclusion of Colombia played only two teams in group 2
