1986 Copa Libertadores

The Copa Libertadores 1986 was the 27th edition of the most important South American football competition for club teams. 19 teams took part. It took the national champions of CONMEBOL countries and the second part respectively. Venezuela asked no participants. The field was completed by defending champion Argentinos Juniors. The tournament began on 12 March and ended on 29 October 1986 with the final second leg. The Argentine representative of CA River Plate won the final against América de Cali and won for the first time the Copa Libertadores.
