1969 Copa Libertadores

The Copa Libertadores 1969 was the 10th edition of the most important South American football competition for club teams. 17 teams took part. It took each of the national champions of CONMEBOL countries and the second part, or the winners and finalists of the Cup competition in Bolivia, since there is no national championships still took place. Brazil did not participate, Argentina sent only defending champions Estudiantes de La Plata. The tournament began on 23 February and ended on 22 May 1969 with the final second leg. The Argentine representative Estudiantes de La Plata won the final against Nacional Montevideo and was able to defend his title from last year.
