Ansbach (district)

The district of Ansbach in the administrative region of Middle Franconia is geographically the largest county in Bavaria. Neighboring districts are in the north of the district of Neustadt an der Aisch -Bad Windsheim, in the eastern district of Fürth and the district of Roth, in the southeastern district of Wissembourg -Gunzenhausen, south of the district of Donau -Ries and to the west of Baden- Württemberg counties Schwäbisch Hall, Ostalb and Main- Tauber-Kreis. Geography

History

The area of present-day district of Ansbach belonged before 1800 mainly with the Principality of Ansbach, the imperial cities of Rothenburg ob der Tauber and smaller dominions. 1802 the area came to Bavaria and there emerged the district court districts of Ansbach, Dinkelsbühl, wet cheeks, Heilsbronn, Herrieden, Leutershausen, Rothenburg ob der Tauber and Wassertruedingen and the rule of court Schillingsfuerst, from 1840, the district court Schillingsfuerst emerged.
