Assainvillers

Assainvillers ( Picard: Sainvilé ) is a northern French village with 133 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) by the Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier, is part of the Communauté de communes du canton de Montdidier, in the canton Montdidier.

Geography

The community on the border department in the landscape Santerre with the isolated Ferme Defoy the west and the Ferme Le Moulin in the south lies about four kilometers southeast of Montdidier and ( former National Route 35 ) to this adjacent to the Territory road D935 to Compiègne.

History

In Assainvillers numerous traces of prehistoric settlements have been found. The medieval chapel of Sainte -Geneviève in 1768 destroyed. The municipality received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
