Le Quesnel

Le Quesnel ( Picard: L' Tchini ) is a northern French village with 757 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier, is part of the Communauté de communes Avre Luce Moreuil, in the canton Moreuil.

Geography

The church in the countryside Santerre is located north of the generously -developed Territory road D934 (formerly Route nationale 334) from Amiens to Noyon about 14 km northwest of Roye at the department of roads D41 and D161.

Toponymy and history

The name of the village derives as a diminutive of the name Chêne ( in Picardy: Quesne ) from for oak.

The municipality received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
