Ayencourt

Ayencourt (also Ayencourt le Monchel, Picard: Ayincourt Monchi ) is a northern French village with 175 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier, is part of the Communauté de communes du canton de Montdidier, in the canton Montdidier.

Geography

The traversed by the road department D329 and the disused railway line to Compiègne community on the border of Oise is located about three kilometers south-southwest of Montdidier and directly to this then mainly on the left (western) bank of the river Trois Doms. On the northern edge of the community is a sport center of the French railways.

History

The municipality received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
