Dudley Moore

Dudley Moore ( born April 19, 1935 in Dagenham, United Kingdom as Dudley Stuart John Moore, † March 27, 2002 in Plainfield, New Jersey, United States) was a British comedian, actor and musician.

Dudley Moore did in the 1960s as a musician ( and a composer, pianist ) in the area Easy Listening, Blues and Jazz numerous instrumental songs out, including Moon Time (1967 ), Sweet Mouth ( 1967), Italy (1968 ), 30 Is A Dangerous Age Cynthia (1968), Head First (1968). It appeared several LPs under his band The Dudley Moore Trio.

Dudley Moore began his career as a comedian and writer and performer in British revues. While studying music at Oxford (organ, piano, composition ), he met Alan Bennett, Peter Cook and Jonathan Miller, who shaped the beginning of the 1960s the comedy group Beyond the Fringe, a kind of predecessor of Monty Python's Flying Circus. Together with Peter Cook, he appeared in several two-man shows and had his first film appearances in Last Greetings from Uncle Joe (1966 ), Do not trust anyone over 30 (1968), Then (1969) and The Hound of the Baskervilles (1977).

In 1981, he was together with Liza Minnelli in Arthur front of the camera and got this for an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. Other films of the 1980s and 1990s could not repeat that success, such as Oh, Moses! (1980 ), Six Weeks ( 1982), Love Sick - The lovelorn psychiatrist (1983) and Nothing is mad but the truth (1990). In 1993, he briefly had their own sitcom called Dudley.

He was married June 1968 to September 1972 with actress Suzy Kendall. Dudley Moore died on 27 March 2002 from the effects of pneumonia as a side effect of PSP.
