Louisville Icehawks

The Louisville Icehawks were an American ice hockey team from Louisville, Kentucky. The team played from 1990 to 1994 in the East Coast Hockey League.

History

The Louisville Icehawks were established in 1990 as a franchise of the East Coast Hockey League. Their most successful season graduated from the team in the 1991/92 season, in which they appear in the regular season moved in with a sixth place as the last team in the West Division in the playoffs for the Kelly Cup, where they initially Toledo Storm beat before they a bye and a win against Cincinnati Cyclones only in the Kelly Cup finals with a sweep in the best- of-seven series, the Hampton Roads Admirals documents. In its last season, the Icehawks were the farm team of the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League.

After four seasons, the team has been to Jacksonville, Florida, relocated, where it participated in the following years under the name Jacksonville Lizard Kings of the game operation of the ECHL.
