Osterrönfeld
Osterronfeld is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg -Eckernförde in Schleswig -Holstein. It lies on the south side of the North Sea-Baltic Canal, opposite the city of Rendsburg.

History
The place was first mentioned in 1330, through the establishment of a chapel on the outskirts of the city of Rendsburg with the relevant lands and houses.
The name ' Osterronfeld ' originated from the location of the village on the eastern shore of the so-called gutter or Ronne. This refers to the current Wehrau which thereby received its name, that in times of war, this small river to defend the city of Rendsburg could be dammed.
The original village was located in the core a little further south-east, it was completely destroyed by a fire in 1702. The district designation and the 1999 -developed building area " Ohldörp " ( Altdorf ) point out.
A significant inter-regional connectivity Osterrönfelds was performed with the construction of the railway in 1845, however, was the village until after the expansion of the railway line Husum - Kiel to Kiel its own train station.
The construction of the North Sea-Baltic Canal in the late 19th century brought about a further important change. Many construction workers stayed here and settled here. The first widening of the channel in 1911 led to the construction of the viaduct and construction of today a listed building Transporter Bridge. The original station was moved to Osterronfeld the railway embankment, today there is a gas bearing. By 1975, there were Osterronfeld of a siding to a shipyard in Schülldorf. Partnership
The place has since 2005 a municipal partnership with the municipality East ( Oste) in Lower Saxony, the location of the second German Transporter Bridge.
Economy and infrastructure
In December 2006 it was announced that the Hamburg-based wind turbine manufacturer REpower plans to build a production site in Osterronfeld. It was planned to produce directly on the Kiel Canal for both land as well as sea-based wind turbines. Since due to the size of the plants transportation over land would not have been possible in part, a pier was built, can be transported over large plant elements by boat across the North Sea-Baltic Canal.
At the new production site at least 400 jobs should arise. It would be the largest commercial and industrial companies settling the last 30 years in the region.
In July 2007, the first written agreement between the municipality Osterronfeld, the Economic Development Corporation of Rendsburg- Eckernförde and the Hamburg-based wind turbine producer was signed. After completion of the construction and water rights plan process began in 2008 with the construction work. However, REpower did not build production facility in Osterronfeld, only the development and management was located here (so-called TechCenter ). Therefore, the new harbor of Kiel - Canal offered GmbH to the still vacant commercial space with other readers. The area got its own entrance to the B 202, over which one can reach the A7 motorway.
In June 2011, the investments of the new harbor of Kiel - Canal - Rendsburg Port ( NHKC ) were completed, first they heard no use. Since February 1, 2012 operates the " Rendsburg Port GmbH " and the New Harbour. At the new company Ahlmann Zerssen GmbH Co. KG and the Brunsbüttel Ports are involved half each. The facilities of the port to be used for the handling of elements for on-and offshore wind turbines as a heavy load port. In June 2012, the first ship with elements for wind turbines has been cleared here. From the Business Development Programme ( ZPW ) the expansion of the port is supported by an extension of the Vorstaufläche 1.5 acres with 1.3 million euros. A first fixed users, the company Max Bögl who wants to build (steel 2/3 of concrete, 1/3 ) for wind turbines from the summer of 2014 called here hybrid towers.
Traffic
Osterronfeld is indirectly connected to the Federal Highway 7 and has a direct connection to Kiel via the federal highway 210 The Federal Highway 77 connects Flensburg with Itzehoe.
Osterronfeld located on the Kiel Canal and has the Rendsburg Port ( operated by the Rendsburg Port GmbH ) is a 300 m long quay with two berths for large vessels with a draft up to 9.5 m and two mobile harbor cranes that up in tandem able to lift 250 tons.
