Rögnitz

Rögnitz is a municipality in the southern part of the North West in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). The community is managed by the Office Gadebusch based in the same city.

Place name

The place name derives from the Slavic word Rogu or rakyta for Horn and means as much as Horndorf.

Geography

The community Rögnitz in Schaalsee is just a few kilometers east of the Schaalsees, which forms the border to Schleswig -Holstein.
