Steve Martin
Steve Martin (actually: Stephen Glenn Martin, born August 14, 1945 in Waco, Texas) is an American comedian, writer, musician, producer and actor.
Life
After the completion of the Garden Grove High School in 1963, Martin studied at the California State University for a few semesters philosophy and theater. In addition, he worked in the Magic Shop from Disneyland, where he developed his skills in juggling, magic, Banjo games and balloon animals forms. In the late 1960s he wrote his first stage program, with which he toured numerous smaller clubs in Los Angeles.
Martin quickly made a name for itself in the industry. In 1969 he won an Emmy as a writer of Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. In 1971 he was a permanent member of the Sonny & Cher Show. With numerous appearances on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, he became known to a wide audience. Martin was awarded the Kennedy Award in 2007.
In 2010 he received the Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album for The Crow / New Songs for the Five - String Banjo.
On March 7, 2010 Martin led along with Alec Baldwin at the Kodak Theatre once again through the Oscar ceremony. In 2014 he received an honorary Oscar for his life's work.
