Dury (Somme)

Dury is a northern French village with 1245 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, is part of the Communauté d' agglomà Amiens Métropole, in the canton Boves.

Geography

The cut-through of the Autoroute A29 municipality is located immediately south of Amiens abutment and grown together with this, at the department of road D1001 ( former Route nationale 1) almost entirely on the plateau south of the department capital. History

From the prehistoric settlement here testify discovered stone tools. Dury was crossed by a branch of historical Chaussée Brune skin. The church is first mentioned in 710 as Duriacus. In 1080 Raoul de Dury transferred his possessions to the chapter of Notre -Dame in Amiens. The castle was inhabited until the French Revolution of the family Picquet de Dourier.
