Gentelles
Gentelles ( Picard: Gintelle ) is a northern French village with 554 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, is part of the Communauté de communes du Val de Somme, in the canton Boves.
Geography
The community lies on the edge of the landscape Santerre at the department road D168 4.5 km east of Boves. It extends north to the Autoroute A29 and south to the generously -developed department of road D934.
History
Gentelles was one of the first donations of Clovis II and Bathilde to the abbey of Corbie. In the German -French war fell here in a battle 25 soldiers. During World War I the town was completely devastated. She received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
