Büttel

Wolfenbüttel is a municipality in the district of Steinburg, in Schleswig- Holstein. In maps of the 17th and 18th centuries, the place appears as Dick constable / constable Dieck.

Geography and transport

Wolfenbüttel is located about seven kilometers east of Brunsbuttel directly on the dike, which here runs somewhat inland. The nature reserve of land in front of the dike at the shore is simply " outside the dikes " or called Low German " Butendiek ". In the outer dike is located with the " Boesch " an increase that formerly served as a pilot station. The castle - Kudensee channel flows through the community.

History

Constable was first mentioned in 1318, but the settlement probably dates already from the Frankish period.
