Elmenhorst (Lauenburg)

Elmenhorst is a municipality in the district of Lauenburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

Geography

The place is located about 6 km north of Schwarzenbek. It consists of the districts Elmenhorst and flanks.

History

The village was mentioned in 1230 in Ratzeburg tithe register for the first time in a document. Since 1948, the community is part of the Office Schwarzenbek country.

Policy

Since the local elections of 2008, the voters Community AWE all eleven seats in the municipal council.

Economy and infrastructure

In Elmenhorst there are several retail businesses. Also located in Elmenhorst the county fire station.

In the village there is a kindergarten.

Leisure

The sports club SIG Elmenhorst, founded in 1976 offers sports in several divisions. The Skatsparte has participated in several German championships and won a city championship in 2007.
