Langenlehsten

Langenlehsten is a municipality in the district of Lauenburg, in Schleswig- Holstein. The municipality comprises the villages of Fort Krug, Bergholz, New Bergholz and forest peace.

History

Langenlehsten was first mentioned in 1194 as Lesten in Isfriedschen Teilungsvertrag documented. The original name is Lesten Wendish origin. The village was situated on the oldest road salt from Lüneburg to Lübeck. Apparently because of the distance to Gudower church, a chapel was built in Langenlehsten, which was obtained in 1590 than it was in 1614 but was canceled. From the year 1683 it is no longer present as handed down.

Since about 1800 the place is called Long Lehsten. This place name merged with the time the present name of the place. An important step towards independence Langenlehstens has been achieved with the completion of Verkoppelung in 1821. The farmers could Langenlehstens since 1821 own business responsibly. However, Free property were the peasant holdings until about 1876. During this time, the rural community Langenlehsten, which was assigned to the this year founded District Gudow in 1889 was born.

In 1934 the volunteer fire brigade was founded Langenlehsten. Previously there was a fire defense, which included all males 21-56 years. The school building was built in 1869 and extensively modernized in 1956. Fort Krug, Bergholz, New Bergholz and forest peace

Fort Krug was founded in 1704 as Erbpachthufe at the ford over the mill stream.

Bergholz was a Vorwerk item from Gudow, which belonged to the noble family von Bülow. After the dissolution of Gutsbezirkes Gudow 1928 was awarded the municipality Langenlehsten, which doubled the municipal area.

New Bergholz (built 1864-1865 ) and the forest peace (built in 1946) are foresters in forest management Bergholz.
