Ritzerau

Ritzerau is a municipality in the district of Lauenburg, in Schleswig- Holstein east of Hamburg.

History

The nobles of Ritzerau were first mentioned in 1222. The tithe register of Ratzeburg bishop calls in 1230 and the place Ritzerau ( Ritzerow ). In the 15th century, the city of Lübeck acquired the knight's seat and the village. Since 1562 the castle was Ritzerau seat of the district court. 1772 burned the village from almost completely. In 1845 the castle was canceled postponed the district court in 1851. Built in 1547 Ritzer Auer Hofscheune 1923 also canceled. The village belonged to the Greater Hamburg Act of 1937, an exclave on the Hanseatic city of Lübeck and then came to the then Prussian province of Schleswig -Holstein. However, the city of Lübeck remained owners of city property (250 acres, until 1990) and forestry Ritzerau (650 hectares).

Economy

Located near the village of domain yard Ritzerau belongs since 1999 to the entrepreneur and organic farmers Günther Fielmann. Since 2001 supports Günther Fielmann interdisciplinary scientific research on the farm.
