Wiershop

Wiershop is a municipality in the district of Lauenburg, in Schleswig- Holstein east of Hamburg. The village Heidkaten situated in the municipality.

History

Wiershop first mentioned as Wigershop 1230 in Ratzeburg tithe registers documented. The village name is Saxon origin, the village much older. It belonged for centuries to the estate Gülzow, which was more than 400 years in the possession of the old Lauenburg noble family of Schack and then from 1736 to 1930 in the possession of the Counts of Kielmansegg.

Policy

In the local elections of 2008, the voter community received ABWW all seven seats in the municipal council. Since the local elections in 2013, has from the seven seats in the municipal council the ABWW only 4 seats in the municipal council.
