Ziethen, Schleswig-Holstein

Ziethenstraße is a municipality in the district of Lauenburg, in Schleswig- Holstein east of Hamburg. It is located in close proximity to the city of Ratzeburg.

History

Ziethenstraße first mentioned as Cithene in Isfriedschen partition treaty of 1194 in a document. In it, the entire village is transferred to the Section of Ratzeburg Cathedral. Therefore, the village belonged to the Bishopric of Ratzeburg and then emerged from the Principality of Ratzeburg, later Mecklenburg -Strelitz. Only through the Barber Ljaschtschenko Agreement, the former Mecklenburg community of the British zone of occupation and hence the Land Schleswig -Holstein has been assigned. The parish Ziethenstraße however, remained until 1998 part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mecklenburg, but was then administered since 1954 by the State Church of Schleswig-Holstein and the North Elbe Church.

Policy

Of the eleven seats in the municipal council has the voter community WGZ since the local elections 2008 eight seats and the CDU has three.

Attractions

The St. Lawrence Church in Ziethenstraße was built 1591-95 by the provost Ludolf Schack instead of a previous building in the style of the brick Renaissance. The equipment of the older church building is partially preserved. Thus, a statue of Ansverus. The parish is the owner of Garrensees.

Economy and infrastructure

The municipality is situated on the main road 208 Together with the county town of Ratzeburg the municipality is planning Ziethenstraße the construction of the business park. In May 2008, the common ground-breaking ceremony took place.

In the list of cultural monuments in Ziethenstraße ( Lauenburg ) are registered in the list of monuments of Schleswig- Holstein cultural monuments.
