Kulpin, Germany

Kulpin is a municipality in the district of Lauenburg, in Schleswig- Holstein east of Hamburg.

History

Kulpin was first mentioned in 1228 and is a Slavic settlement. In the Middle Ages Kulpin seat of a castle, on whose site the since 1919 owned by the family of Keiser Good Kulpin can be found today.

The place name is derived from the Wendish word for swan. This is also shown on a boulder in the center. The Swan serves to this day as a symbol for the community Kulpin.

Policy

Since the local elections of 2013, the voters Community AWG has all nine seats in the municipal council.
