Kasseburg

Kasseburg is a municipality in the district of Lauenburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

Geography

The village is located about nine kilometers northwest of Schwarzenbek.

History

The village was mentioned in 1230 in Ratzeburg tithe register for the first time in a document. Since 1962, the community is part of the Office Schwarzenbek country. The old spelling is " Caßeburg ". A mile east-northeast of the village lies the Runwall a worn Slavic Castle Wall from the late 8th century, which is easy to recognize on the basis of tree vegetation on aerial photographs. The largest expansion of the oval inner surface is 80 meters.
