Schmilau

Schmilau is a municipality in the district of Lauenburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

History

With the Battle of Schmilau Schmilau was first mentioned in 1093 as Smilov. With support from the Bill Magnus Unger Henry Ruler was the Abodrites. The name is Smilov Wendish origin. The Schmilauer church was begun in 1210 and completed no later than 1230. She lost in the wake of the Reformation part of their self-employment as parish in favor of St. George on the mountain, and was a chapel community.

The hydropower plant Farchau 1925 taken at the mouth of the channel in the Schaalsee Küchensee in operation. In the same year Lauenburgische Schaalsee shipping was opened.

From 1 September 1896 to 1994 Schmilau had a station on the railway Emperor, who still available to trolley rides today.
