Harbonnières

Harbonnières ( Picard: Harbounière ) is a northern French village with 1530 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) by the Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier, in the canton of Rosières -en- Santerre and is part of the Communauté de communes du Santerre.

Geography

The community is located about 5 km north- west of Rosières -en- Santerre in the agrarian landscape Santerre at the intersection of the roads department D41 and D337. The municipality is crossed by the Autoroute A29 and the railway line Amiens Laon and touches the north, the Dèpartementsstraße D1029 ( former Route nationale 29). At this lies near the Ferme d' en Haut, a British military cemetery. To the west of the village there is a chemical plant.

History

Findings show a Gallo -Roman settlement. The site has been gathered prior to the 12th century to the parish. He possessed in the 12th century a leper and a hospital. Since the Middle Ages two annual fairs were held. 1888 another hospital was built in the town center, which in the rule changed several times in the First World War, about the place, destroyed in 1918 but rebuilt in 1927 and in 1950 was converted into a home for the disabled. Harbonnières received as an award, the Croix de guerre 1814-1918.
