Koochiching County, Minnesota

The Koochiching County is a county located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. In 2010, the County had 13,311 inhabitants and a population density of 1.7 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is International Falls, which was named after its location on the Koochiching Falls on the border with Canada.

History

The Koochiching County was formed on December 19, 1906 from parts of Itasca County. It was named after the Native American term for the Rainy River.
