Dodge County (Minnesota)

The Dodge County is a county located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. In 2010, the County had 20,087 inhabitants and a population density of 17.6 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Mantorville, which was by C. Peter Mantor, founder of the town, named.

Geography

The County is located in southeastern Minnesota. It is located in the south about 45 miles from Iowa and has an area of 1139 square kilometers without significant water surface. At the Dodge County borders the following Nachbarcountys:

History

The Dodge County was on 20 February 1855 as a free- designated - formed territory - but in reality populated by Indians. It was named after Henry Dodge (1782-1867), an American politician and U.S. Senator.
