History
Originally Barlt was part of the parish Meldorf. In the period of peasant republic Dithmar the village was comparatively rich, such as the construction of the church Barlter 1428 shows. It was under the presumably advanced grounds that the Hovetkerke ( main church) in Meldorf was often unavailable due to the difficult weather and soil conditions, built - for Dithmarsch march farmers it part of everyday life, with frequent wet weather over sodden clothes soils and flooded drainage ditches to reach their goals need to.
The Barlter made it into the episode to set up alone from village means a church, sometimes to pay two pastors and continue to pay their contributions to the parish Meldorf. The church building thus belongs to a later generation of church buildings, as they are no longer led to the establishment of regionally extensive parishes, but remained localized in their effects and in their construction.
