Geography

Geographical Location

The village Wiemerstedt located about 10 km north of the county town of Heide, 3 km west of Hennstedt and 6 km south of the Eider.

Geology

In Wiemerstedt is the Western edge of the heath Itzehoer Geest. The Fedder Inger Moor is part of Lundener valley, a large lowland area within the Eider- Treene Lowland. The westernmost Broklandsau opens into the Eider.

Neighboring municipalities are Fedderingen in the north, Hägen, and Norderheistedt in the east and in the south Weddingstedt.

Policy

Since the local elections of 2013, the voters Community AWW has six seats and the list of future Wiemerstedt LZW a seat in the municipal council.

Wiemerstedt is located on the county road 76 The nearest train stations are Heide and Lunden.

Public institutions

The community Wiemerstedt operates a volunteer fire department together with the community Fedderingen. The fire station is a combined community center and is in Fedderingen.
