Immenstedt, Dithmarschen

Immenstedt is a municipality in the district of Dithmarschen in Schleswig-Holstein.

Geography

Geographical Location

North of Albers village towards Tellingstedt on the route of the old ox road (now State Road 149), the number of village is Immenstedt. The L 149 is here a part of the Green Coast road.

Landscape

There used to be a heathland - the Immenstedter Loh - known by the legend " A white horse fashion t the holy place ."

The place is surrounded by fields, meadows and pastures. The creek Westerau flowing later in the Gieselau, has its origins as a frontier stream between the municipality Schrum and the opposite northern community Welmbüttel. This source area of the stream is already named in Neocorus ( vol II page 267 ) in 1600 with Kellihorn - vagina - Beek and then Schrum - Brooks - Beke until it empties into the Westerau and finally to Gieselau and finally empties into the Eider.

History

Was first mentioned in 1566 as Immenstedt Ihstenstede what is to be interpreted as the " Abode of Realty ".

Policy

Since the local elections of 2008, the voters Community KWV all seven seats in the municipal council.
