Schlichting, Germany

Schlichting is a municipality in the district of Dithmarschen in Schleswig-Holstein. Schlichting forms its own church and is the smallest in the district.

Geography

The still predominantly agricultural row village located on the border of a lowland bog between Hennstedt and Lunden and the Eider Eider treene march in the lowlands. Due to the formerly held floods the Eider the village center was built on mounds. The base provides even today that occasionally sag houses.

Schlichting is accessible via the national road 302, the nearest international railway station is in Heath.

The municipality is divided into the parts Schlichting, Schlicht Inger Moor, Schlichtinger Neuerkoog, Hauberg butter and milk jug.

History

1544, the first time it was mentioned a separate church for the place.

Today's Saint - Roch church was built after 1670, most of the interior dates from between 1700 and 1730. It is located in the middle of the village on a mound. The church is the only item on the list of the cultural monument in Schlichting.

Policy

Of the nine seats in the municipal council voters Community AWS has since the local elections in 2013 six seats and voters Community AWGs three.
