Neufelderkoog

Neufelderkoog is a municipality in the district of Dithmarschen in Schleswig-Holstein.

Geography

The community forms the outermost southwest tip of the circle Dithmar, the dike line of Koog is the last northern bank of the Elbe estuary in the North Sea. There are still salt marshes in the municipal area.

History

The polder was dammed in 1923 to 1925 by an embankment cooperative. He was initially part of the Gutsbezirks Marner foreshore, which was dissolved in 1928. Since then Neufelderkoog is an independent municipality.

Policy

Since the local elections in 2013, the voters Community KWV all seven seats in the municipal council.

Economy

Neufelderkoog is heavily agricultural. Wind turbines determine large parts of the landscape.
