History

The district Lohe 1319 is the first mentioned.

The municipality was created in 1966 composed of the former municipalities Lohe and Rickelshof.

Policy

Of the 13 seats in the municipal council, the SPD has since the local elections in 2013 five seats, the CDU and the voter community UWL -R have three seats and the voter community FWV two.

Coat of arms

In the two-part coat of arms, the two districts are represented. The district designates a bright blaze Grove or a damp grove. The district Rickelshof is symbolized by a Maschinenrad, as early as the 19th century, an iron foundry and machine shop in the village was located.

Economy and infrastructure

In the village there are about 30 companies, including three full- agricultural economies and a machine factory. Lohe- Rickelshof is a popular residential area due to its location. By 1991 oil was promoted to the petroleum refinery in Hemmingstedt in Lohe- Rickelshof since the oil field is no longer economical.
