Karolinenkoog is a municipality in the north of the circle Dithmar in Schleswig -Holstein.

Geography

The polder is situated on the southeastern shore of the river Eider towards the city Tonning ( North Friesland ). The field of eider side of the dikes is part of the nature reserve Dithmarsch Eider watts.

Policy

Since the local elections in 2013, the voters Community Karolinenkoog WGK all seven seats in the municipal council.

Karolinenkoog possessed of 22 August 1877 to 1940 by a gangplank at the Eider a rail link to the heath which primarily served the residents of Tonning to rapidly reach this city. Today Karolinenkoog over the station Tonning ( railway Husum - Bad St. Peter -Ording ) on the opposite side Eider can be reached.
