Pahlen, Germany
PAHLEN is a municipality in the district of Dithmarschen in Schleswig-Holstein. Pahlhude situated in the municipality.
Geography
PAHLEN is accessible via Heide or the federal highway 7 and Rendsburg either via the federal highway 23. The village is located about halfway between the two cities.
History
In the early Middle Ages PAHLEN was important bishopric. Adam of Bremen reported for 1075 in his Gesta Pontificum Ecclesiae Hammaburgensis that the first of twelve bishops who sent out the Hamburg Archbishop Adalbert of Bremen, was after Palmis on the Eider estuary, as PAHLEN was formerly sent. This should be responsible for the west coast there.
Policy
Of the eleven seats in the municipal council, the CDU has since the local elections of 2013 six seats and voters Community WGP has five seats.
Economy and infrastructure
From 1905 to 1937, the place Pahlhude had a railway connection with the circular path Norderdithmarschen.
The community is located directly on the Eider and has a marina, water skiing is also permitted. The area is also suitable for canoeing, cycling or trail riding. Nationally known, it is mainly through the Pahlazzo, one of the largest discos in Schleswig -Holstein, in the connected Eiderland hall - the approximately 2000 persons sums - often concerts of well-known bands instead.
