Schmedeswurth is a municipality in the district of Dithmarschen in Schleswig-Holstein.

The place is a pure march and area municipality in southern Dithmar it lies between the Marne and Brunsbuttel on the main road 5

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Auenbüttel, Ostermenghusen, Schmedeswurth, Schmedeswurtherwesterdeich and Westermenghusen.

History

The name is probably from the " Wurth " ( mound ) of a " blacksmith " emerged. The community is an area municipality and agricultural structures, their size changed over time repeatedly.

Policy

Of the eight seats in the municipal council voters Community FWV has since the local elections in 2013 four seats and the voter community KWV four.
