Hennstedt (Dithmarschen)

Hennstedt is a municipality in the north of the circle Dithmar in Schleswig -Holstein. The community is located approximately 4 km south of the Eider in the Eider- Treene Lowland. Apeldör, bush, After Work, Horst, Julianka, Kleverweg, grief field, Neuhof and horses pitcher lie in the municipality.

History

As an independent parish Hennstedt was first mentioned in 1281. The parish was created simultaneously with many other parishes in the 12th and 13th centuries in the first generation after the Urkirchspielen Dithmarschens. Probably it was a spin-off from the parish Tellingstedt.

Policy

Of the 13 seats in the municipal council, the CDU has been the local elections in 2013 four seats, the voter community four seats and the FDP has five seats.

Culture and sights

The St. Secundus Church dates from the 13th century. Under economical use of bricks it was built mainly from field stone. The choir is decorated in the Gothic style. The nave was later expanded to the west. Wooden tower and west wall were renewed in 1847. The pulpit dates from 1651 manufactured H. Claussen from New churches, baptism is of 1687, the altar carved in 1743 the Wesselburener AH Burmeister and the organ is the work of Tobias Brunner.

Economy and infrastructure

From 1905 to 1937, the town had a railway connection with the circular path Norderdithmarschen.
