Lieth is a municipality in the district of Dithmarschen in Schleswig-Holstein.

Geography

Geographical Location

The place is situated on both sides of the county road K 28 and is bordered to the north by the municipality of Lohe- Rickelshof, in the west on the community Woehrden and to the south and east on the community Hemmingstedt. The majority of the community is located at the junction of Geest island towards the march. It is likely that the first human settlement already existed before the emergence of the present marsh areas. Originally Lieth was dominated by agriculture.

Of the nine seats in the municipal council, the CDU has been the local elections in 2013 five seats and the SPD four.

Economy
