Kleve (Dithmarschen)

Kleve is a municipality in the north of the circle Dithmar in Schleswig -Holstein. Kleverweg, North Field and Westermoor lie in the municipality.

Geography

The name comes from Kleve cliff, cliff. The slope of the moraine to Eider march, a relic of the last ice age, acts as if the march on its edge simply torn down and slipped. The highest point of Kleve is the Muhlenberg with 15 m above sea level. NN, the lowest point lies in the Eider march at Lütjenmoor -0.6 m MSL.

History

Kleve was in 1447 for the first time mentioned. Many finds from the Stone Age, as flint knife blades, stone axes, spindle whorls, earthen vessel sherds demonstrate a significant early settlement of the region.
