Capannori
Capannori is a municipality with 45 585 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Lucca in Tuscany.

Geography
The community occupies a large part of the Lucca plain east one of Lucca between the Apennines and Monte Pisano. It consists of 41 districts, which usually have their own centers.

However, the original settlement structure were not individual villages, but Corti ( courtyards ), which were composed of the residential and farm buildings of several families and surrounded by gardens and fields. Today, many of the formerly open spaces are filled by individual houses.

Structures
The higher-lying northern part of the township was popular as a summer residence of the Lucchese upper class. There you will find several significant villas.
