Earl F. Hilliard

Earl Frederick Hilliard ( born April 9, 1942 in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama) is an American lawyer and politician (Democratic Party).

Career

Earl Frederick Hilliard graduated in 1960 from Western - Olin High School in Birmingham. Then he made in 1964 a Bachelor of Arts degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta ( Georgia) and 1967 a Juris Doctor from Howard University in Washington, DC After he graduated in 1970 at the Atlanta University with a Master of Business Administration. After qualifying as a lawyer, he operated his own practice. Hilliard also pursued a political career. He was 1974-1980 Member of the House of Representatives from Alabama. After that, he was 1981-1992 Member of the Senate of Alabama. Hilliard was elected to the 103rd U.S. Congress and reelected to the four succeeding U.S. Congresses. He served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 3 January 1993 to 3 January 2003. In 2002 his candidacy for the nomination for the 108th U.S. Congress, he suffered a defeat.
