Fresnoy-lès-Roye

Fresnoy -les- Roye ( Picard: Frénoé -lès- toe) is a northern French village with 302 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) by the Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier, is part of the Communauté de communes du Grand Roye Roye, in the canton.

Geography

Located in the countryside Santerre approximately 5.5 kilometers north of Roye community at the intersection of roads D139 and D132 department is cut in a north-south direction from the Autoroute A1 and run parallel to this high-speed rail route of the LGV Nord. The disused railway line from Chaulnes Roye touches the municipal area in the east.

History

In October 1914, Fresnoy was the scene of hostilities. The municipality received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
