Geography

The County is located in northwestern North Dakota, bordered on the north by Canada and has an area of ​​2925 square kilometers, of which 67 square kilometers are water surface. History

Burke County was formed in 1910. It was named after John Burke, an early jurist, political leader of the Dakota Territory, Governor of North Dakota, U.S. Treasury Secretary and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of North Dakota.
