Steele County is a county located in the state of North Dakota in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Finley.

Geography

The County is located almost in the extreme east of North Dakota, is about 65 km from Minnesota away and has an area of ​​1853 square kilometers, of which 8 square miles is water area. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Grand Forks County, Traill County, Cass County, Barnes County, Griggs County and Nelson County.

History

Steele County was formed in 1833. It was named for Edward H. Steele, a financial manager of the Red River Land Company.
