McIntosh County (North Dakota)

The McIntosh County is a county located in the state of North Dakota in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Ashley.

Geography

The County is located in southern North Dakota, adjacent to South Dakota and has an area of 2577 square kilometers, of which 51 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Logan County, LaMoure County, Dickey County, McPherson County ( South Dakota), Campbell County ( South Dakota) and Emmons County.

History

McIntosh County was formed in 1883. It was named for Edward H. McIntosh, a member of the administration of the Dakota Territory.
