Williams County is a county located in the state of North Dakota in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Williston.

Geography

The County is located almost in the extreme northwest of North Dakota is bordered to the west by Montana, is in the north approximately 45 km from the border with Canada, and has an area of ​​5563 square kilometers, of which 201 square kilometers are water surface. History

Williams County was formed in 1890. It was named after Erastus Appelman Williams, an early politician and member of the legislation of the Dakota Territory.
