Geography

The County is located north-west of the geographic center of North Dakota, is located in the north about 40 km from the border with Canada, and has an area of ​​5326 square kilometers, of which 112 square kilometers are water surface. History

Ward County was formed in 1885. It was named after Mark Ward, an early politician and member of the legislation of the Dakota Territory.
